He gets a job working for a company run by the crooked T.S. Chandler. To keep him under his thumb, T.S. Chandler convinces Benny that he's a crackerjack salesman.

ROUTINES & HILIARIOUS MOMENTS:
Lou selling vaccum cleaners
Bud trying to undress Lou

Trivia ([]): (1)William A. Seiter had previously directed the Marx Brothers and was able to get Margaret Dumont to do a cameo as one of Benny's intended customers.(2)This was the first Abbott and Costello feature in which they did not play a team. The story centers on Lou Costello's character while Bud Abbott does not appear until 16 minutes into the film. This was because the two were in the midst of a terrific feud and did not speak to each other outside the film. The two do not share a scene until 20 minutes into the picture.(3)The film was regarded as a major departure for Abbott and Costello. It was their first situation comedy. The comedy was character/situation driven rather than gag driven.

Goofs ([]): Continuity: Abbott's toupee shifts noticeably during the "7 times 13=28" scene.
