Reader Reviews This was on television once and I quickly realized it was a very poor telling of this much-loved story. I assume it was a Hollywood production and so often they have ruined stories for those who have cherished the books on which such films are based. While one expects some alterations to allow for telling a lengthy story in an hour and a half, this was really just awful in my opinion. Greer Garson seemed to me to be most at home in roles which allowed her to roll her rrrrrrrrrrrrs. I didn't see her fitting the role of Elizabeth Bennett at all.
