I'd have to say that-hands down- Les Stroud has the best of the shows out there. I am quite glad to have what I hope is Season 1 on DVD and hope that there will be more to come. I think its the fact that he carries all his own gear and does all the filming himself. He does no stupid exhibitionism like Bear Grylls [Man vs. Wild] is so fond of, and approaches all his challenges from a very real and matter-of-fact angle. His harmonica playing is a hoot [one wonders if a CD of 'Les Stroud's Harmonica Hits' is in the offing] and it is great to see him come out on the good end of what he gets into. I suppose that places like Siberia, Mongolia and Antarctica might remain. Nonetheless, I'll be tuning in to wherever Les decides to strand himself next. This DVD set is worth every penny, in my not-so-humble opinion.
