She's not alone, however: a cute raccoon named Meeko does a nice job as the obligatory funny animal. The songs are about as memorable as those in the first film, but the art and animation maintain far higher standards than most animated sequels dumped onto tape. If you don't drive yourself nuts thinking about the appalling historical revisionism at work here, this is passable family entertainment. <I>--Tom Keogh</I> Reader Reviews To rate this movie fairly, I have to include both my opinion and that of my 3-year-old daughter. To me, this film is pretty bad. The original had great animation, great music, and a moving storyline. The sequal has average animation, mostly bad music and a convoluted storyline that tries too hard to balance fact and fiction regarding the true story of Pocahontas. BUT, my 3-year-old daughter, who loves the first Pocahontas as well, likes this one just as much. She likes the fact that Pocahontas goes to England and gets all dressed up in a ball gown, making her look more like the other Disney princesses. My daughter also doesn't seem to mind the lame jokes and the weird storyline that has Pocahontas winding up with someone other than the "prince" from the first movie. So for adults like me, I'd rate it 2 stars. My daughter would probably give it 4, so my official average rating is 3!
