Reader Reviews If you are a Civil War nut (I am), you must see this. If you are not, you should still enjoy this collection of brief vignettes into 19th century warfare (borrowed re-enactors re-create moments of the battle at the actual Gettysburg National Park locations). They are vividly done without a lot of special effects, and effectively and authentically bring you into the conflict of 1863. The equestrian thesis is a very engaging slant, and the extra disc conversations with re-enactors are almost as enlightening as the feature itself. The screenplay would have quotation marks all over it; they worked hard (and succeeded, in my opinion) to make it as authentic as possible, quoting actual participants and interpreting the action through serious historians.
