Buy This Item Ultraviolet (Widescreen Edition) by Sony Pictures  Available from Amazon  $12.99  on 11-26-2008     Milla Jovovich (<i>Resident Evil</i>, <i>The Fifth Element</i>), Cameron Bright (<i>X-Men 3</i>), Nick Chinlund (<i>The Legend of Zorro</i>) and William Fichtner (<i>The Longest Yard</i>) star in this theatrical set in the late 21st century, a subculture of humans have emerged who have been modified genetically by a vampire-like disease (Hemophagia), giving them enhanced speed, incredible stamina and acute intelligence, and as they are set apart from "normal" and "healthy" humans, the world is pushed to the brink of worldwide civil war (a war between humans and hemophages) aimed at the destruction of the "diseased" population. In the middle of this crossed-fire is - an infected woman - Ultraviolet, who finds herself protecting a nine-year-old boy who has been marked for death by the human government as he is believed to be a threat to humans. Reader Reviews Milla Jovovich is another of those actors who inspire me to watch whatever they are in. She was great in The Fifth Element, and everything else I've seen her in; Resident Evil - The High-Definition Trilogy (Resident Evil/ Resident Evil: Apocalypse/ Resident Evil: Extinction) [Blu-ray]. However this film is not quite as intense as her usual butt kicking flicks. I would not sell my copy, and the cover alone is worth keeping, but I cannot give the film five stars. I like it, and Milla Jovovich is always sexy but the this is not on par with Resident Evil, etc. Regardless, you don't see my copy for sale on Amazon. ;-)
