Buy This Item Kitchen Nightmares Volume 1 (2 DVD) by Optomen  Available from Amazon  $18.99  on 8-26-2008     This is the UK version of the show, but on a Region 1 NTSC DVD, so it will play on American TV's and DVD players. <br /> <br />It features the four installments from the UKs season 1, as well as the Revisited segments which were shot for season 2. <br /> <br />This means that for each resteraunt, you have the original show (visit) plus the one-month-later segment, which was also shot and aired with Season 1. <br /> <br />Then it will show you the Revisited segment, which was shot for Season 2, and is about 1 year later. So it is very complete. <br /> <br />What normally happened with the UK show was that by Season 2, they would have a Revisited episode, which was the core of the Season 1 episode, bookended by the new footage from a year later. And they wouldn't include the one-month-later segments from Season 1. <br /> <br />So the UK Season 2 Kitchen Nightmares Revisited, does not have as much content as this DVD. <br /> <br />However, the transfer on this DVD is poor. The brightness and contrast suffer, as if the transfer from PAL to NTSC was done by some basement/garage amateur engineer. Reader Reviews This is the most vile show I think I have ever seen, (perhaps, besides "Moment of Truth"). What has our society become? The vapid shooting of this show, no background detail on these cattle of losers that we are made to hate from the get-go because this monster yells obscenity after obscenity at them, this is the magic of Television/Hollywood? There is no merit to this show. Where once we scoffed at the curse words on "The Osbourne's," we don't even shrug when every other word is a curse word, and likely millions of children are tuned in at 8PM. I can't believe FOX gets away with this show, or any of the stuff beamed into living rooms for free. If you want a truly enjoyable food show, watch Iron Chef, where real talents battle for what is actually worth something: a better tasting meal. I didn't see one talent on "Hell's Kitchen," last night, only the absence of thought and the creation of yet another horrible, culturally destructive show. If we want to clean up this nation, heal our wounds, it won't be with shows like this that add more hate to our world.
