Reader Reviews Never knew this movie existed until I happened on its broadcast on AMC by accident about a year ago. Wow!! I was hooked! Being a western's fan since I was a kid, I was completely captured by the scope of the cinematography and storyline. And John Wayne's pre-Duke early acting finesse (or lack of due to an entertainingly simplistic performance)was quite enjoyable. After viewing the movie that first time I jumped on the DVD as soon as I saw it was available. This is not the slicker John Ford/Duke movies of the forties and fifties, but it is a necessity to have in any Ford/Wayne collection just as a witness to the starting point of Wayne's acting career evolution. Heck, this is a great addition to ANY western's collection! Also, look for an equally young and upcoming Ward Bond.
