Maybe this video is popular in Turkey, but let's be honest. This is not what I call tango. It's some Hollywood or ballroom charicature of it. Por favor, come to Argentina to see the real thing.

I watched this tape through first and thought, I'll never be able to do all those steps. Well, with time and practice, my husband and I are learning to love the tango. The class is broken into three segments, with four moves each. The first two segments can be danced separately or together. The final "movie moves" segment is full of fun stuff to fool around with. Cal and his partner demonstrate the steps separately and together.
We've tried the sequences with various tangoes and they work so well! It is a great deal of fun and very romantic, once you know what you are doing.
A couple of the reviewers say that this is not true Argentine Tango. True, but that's not the only style there is. Cal says right up front that what he is teaching is a combination of three different tango styles. This is obviously not a tape for a competitive ballroom dancer who wants to learn only "official" moves. It's a tape for folks who just want to have a good time and get some experience with the form.
Now I've ordered some "heavy duty" tango DVD's from Amazon. Cal's given us the confidence to want to continue.
