Why is this film not on American/Canadian DVD-compatible format? I saw it on reel-to-reel at a small university. It combines Manuel de Falla's musical composition with striking photography of life in a Madrid slum, a opera-suited love story and the best flamenco dancing I've ever seen. Stunning.

Saura is a genius with his staging of this most penetrating deeply Spanish music and dance. The passion held me tight in its grip. The sincerity with which this is portrayed is breath taking. Anyone interested in real music and dance and the power that it can exhude must have a copy of this DVD.
