I saw this movies years ago and I had to own it on DVD for myself. Is a story about Orodoto Balbuena who comes from the Dominican Republic to New York to find the American Dream. Only that is not what he'd hope for. The only thing good about coming to New York was meeting Nancy Martinez(His girlfriend).
There is a valuable lesson from the film about today's kids than the ones back home. I don't want to give the movie away but see this movie and you'll fall in love with Balbuena. There is a sequel "Nueva Yol 3" and I wasn't too crazy about it because they continued the movie picking up where they left off from NY... when the the first movie had a wonderful happy ending at DR. But still see it because of the great humor.
