Reader Reviews Grew up watching this 80's Japanese tv series (which has been translated to various languages), saw the movie and read the book (from french author Hector Malot " Sans Famille (Nobody's Boy, 1878)"...beautiful story about an orphan (Remi), who is sold to a streetmusician (Vitalis), he learns about love, friendship, respect, loyalty and the true meaning of family. Remi goes through many traumatic, difficult times, very sad moments, that as a young child I cried every time he lost a loved one which is rare in today's children's stories which seemed to have disensitized kids' feelings with violence. As young kids, we learned every episode something new, and we couldn't wait for the next chapter in Remi's life. Each time he learned an important lesson (justice, equality, compassion, love, etc). Would recommended it to all. No special effects, no fancy anime here, just a nice little story about a boy and his journey for a family.
